Weigela is small to medium size (depends on variety) spring flowering shrub.  Low maintenance but requires once a year pruning.   Very easy to propagate it by green wood cuttings in end of summer to fall.  Very hardy, best in full sun to partial shade location.  Some taller varieties have long blooming time.   Most flowers colours are pink, red, white and purplish.   Flowers attract humming birds.

忍冬科錦帶花屬,中小型開花性的灌木.  有矮性和較高的品種,一般是春天開粉紅色或紅色或紫色等花色,有的品種有很長的花期.  強健容易栽種,全日照或半日照為佳.  容易用當年的新枝條扦插來繁殖.   此花吸引蜂鳥,是牠們的蜜源之一.

Evergreen low (2 cm) ground cover, very fragrant, almost no maintenance, drought tolerant!   Better than grass, no trimming required!  So hardy and easy to grow.  Full sun.   Easy to propagate by seeds or stem cuttings.

I must say it is so fragrant and cushy to sit on it or roll on this flowering carpet, to look up the clouds, you can have a cup of tea or coffee with cookies or just sitting on it and reading a book.  With birds singing, water sound from the fountain, fragrance of the flowers carried by the breeze..  🙂

They are out! 🙂 My great little garden helpers are out, just one by one hatched and emerged from their egg case which their mother laid last end of fall in my garden.

Deutzia gracilis is very popular short bush, about 2-5 feet, very hardy, USDA Zones 5-8.  Full sun to partial shade area.  Pretty trouble free.  White flowers in spring.

Deutzia x kalmiiflora is pink flowered, larger shrub (4-6 feet).  Quite a show when it blooms in spring!

Deutzia crenata ‘Nikko’ is popular with its dwarf rounded shape, size is about 2 feet.  Deutzia in fall foliage will change from green to purple.

You can see them everywhere in spring and you can smell their beautiful, powerful fragrance in the breeze!  It is a shrub but in nurseries you can find so called ‘standard’ (tree form) for small garden.  Best in full sun location.  Very hardy and easy to propagate from green wood cutting or seeds.

With good care, it can flower twice in a year!  Once in spring and once in fall.

It is nice it is thornless and in compact form max height  is 3′.  USDA Zones 5-9.   It is very good for veggie garden or for container!  Best in full sun location.  Like regular raspberries plants are self-pollinating.  Price is high almost double of regular variety.
