Tropical Water Lily (Nymphaea) 子母蓮 2nd year seedling is now mature. 子母蓮實生苗第2年已經成熟.

Tropical hardy day blooming water lilies.  Aquatic perennial. Easy to grow.  Best growing in full sun to partial shade location.  USDA Zones:9-11.  Mature size: 6″-1′(H) X 1.5′-2′(W).  This one is blue violet flowers bloom repeatedly.  Flowers are very fragrant and edible. Propagate by seeds, bulbs or offsets.

Here the picture shown is in 1 gallon pot in a small container just able to fit in the pot.  The container is indoors by my kitchen window, south facing.

熱帶強健白天開花的睡蓮.  水生多年生植物.  容易栽種.  最好栽種在全日照到半日照處.  喜熱不耐寒.  成熟株高6吋到1呎高,寬幅1.5-2呎.  這品花色是藍紫色只要溫度夠溫暖會一直續開.  花朵非常芳香,可食用.  繁殖方式以種子,球根或側芽的方式來進行.

照片這株是養在1加侖方形盆,沒入比1加侖方形盆稍大些的容器.  容器所在為室內廚房的面南窗台.

Cold hardy perennial.  Easy to grow.  Best growing in full sun to partial shade location.   Small white double flowers in late spring to summer.  Flowers attract bees and butterflies.  USDA Zones:4-9.  Mature size:6″-1′(H) X 6″-9″(W).  Propagate by division.  (Not sure if seeds will come true.)  Suitable for container indoors.  Excellent for alpine and rock garden!

耐寒強健的多年生草花.  容易栽種.  最好栽種在全日照到半日照處.  春到夏開白色重瓣小花. 花頗吸引蜂蝶.  耐寒也還算耐熱.  成熟株高6吋到1呎,寬幅6-9吋.  繁殖以分株的方式來進行. (尚不確定種子是否與親代相同.)  適合室內盆植.  很適合高山及岩砌花園種植!

Hardy small flowering tree or shrub.  Easy to grow in full sun or partial shade location in well drained soil.  It is suitable for small garden.  Many white, very fragrant flowers bloom in spring but only American fringe tree (Chionanthus virginicus)flowers with fragrance not the Chinese fringe tree (Chionanthus retusus).  Female plant with fruit when pollinated by male plant. Fruit ripe in fall from green turn purple-black, usually enjoyed by birds and other wildlife.  The plant is either male or female, rarely same tree with both. Fruit is edible when pickled as olives. Young leaves can be picked and used as tea leaves for drinks. Fruit with seeds which have high oil content, can be used for oil press. Mature size:12′-20′(H/W). USDA Zones: 4-9. Propagate by seeds, grafting (on Ash)or layering. Medicinal.

李欖是春天開白色香花的小型樹或灌木.  強健易栽種,全日照或半日照,土壤排水要佳.  很適合小型花園. 春開白色流蘇般細長花瓣的香花,但流蘇樹只有北美的流蘇樹的花有香味,中國流蘇樹的花是無香味的. 流蘇樹通常是雌雄異株,很少是雌雄同株的. 雌樹開花授粉後結的果實會由綠於秋天時成熟轉紫黑色. 果實通常被鳥類及其他野生動物享用. 但是人也可以食用,通常當作橄欖醃漬後食用.嫩葉可採收後當作茶葉用來泡茶. 果實含子的含油量高可以用來榨油. 成熟株高/寬幅為12-20呎. 非常耐寒也還算耐熱. 繁殖方式多以種子,嫁接(以梣樹當砧木)也可以壓條的方式來進行. 藥用.
