New variety!  Just purchased this seed packet.  Love its semi-double, cute color!  This annual is very easy to grow from seeds.  According to the past experience, sometimes the seed packet did not always come true as exactly the same flower shape and color as picture shown.  So, we will see!   The mature height says 3′ tall on the seed packet info.  We will see about that later on, too.  Because the past experience often shown the plants are taller they are supposed to be. 😦    Easy to grow.  Best growing in full sun location. Long blooming time!  Good for cut flower!  Flowers attract bees, butterflies and birds.   Self-seeds easily.  Drought tolerant.  The gold finches here really enjoy feed on cosmos seeds in fall.

Hardy perennial.  Gentian family.  It is native from Southern Ontario and throughout the eastern and southeastern US.  Although it is endangered in Canada.   Easy to grow.  Best growing in full sun to partial shade location in moist, rich soil.  Tall flower stem is purple-red.  Flowers are blooming facing downwards with 4 petals.  Plants die after self-seeded. USDA Zones:4-8.  Mature size:2′-8′(H) X 1′-2′(W).  Propagate by seeds.  Medicinal herb.

It is the first time to grow this.  Seeds germination the best are in dark and cool/cold for the 2 months plus “winter period" (could be in fridge with moist but slightly dry medium). When seeds germinated then plant them to the moist soil in light shade to grow.  Seeds germinate easily.

強健多年生草花.  龍膽家族的一員.  原生於安大略省南部及美國東部與東南部均有分佈. 容易栽種.  最好栽種在全日照到半日照處的濕潤肥沃的土壤.  植物成熟時會抽出很長的紫紅色的花梗,開的花四瓣綠色帶有粉或紫色. 花頗吸引蜂蝶與鳥類. 花謝結籽後植株便死亡.  喜冷不耐熱.  成熟株高開花前僅約2呎高左右,開花時可達8呎高,寬幅僅1-2呎.  繁殖以種子方式來進行.  有藥用價值.

第一次種植這個.  種子最好放置於在冷涼處至少兩個月的"冬天"(可以用放冰箱小苗盆裝少量介質來保濕但介質要偏乾這樣冷層積) .  種子發芽後移到濕潤土壤散光處種植.  種子容易發芽.
