How to grow Roses from seeds (Rosa hybrids) 玫瑰種子孵法

White roses. (Rosa)白玫瑰.

Slightly fragrant climbing rose. 有淡香的紅色蔓玫. (Rosa ‘The Blaze’)

Rosa multiflora.  Small but very fragrant thornless roses. 小輪極香的無刺強健玫瑰.

 

Fragrant roses. (Rosa) 有香味的玫瑰花.

Ripe fruit (rose hips) turn orange red in late fall. 秋末成熟轉橘紅的玫瑰果.

Rose seedlings. 玫瑰小苗.

Best time to grow Roses from seeds is late fall to late winter indoors or early spring outdoors. Do not dry the seeds.  Takes about 1.5-2 months to germinate.

1.Use yogurt or pudding this type of small container, punch the hole in the container bottom when in small quantity.  Seed tray in clear container with lid when in larger seed quantity.

2.Fill container with soil, top soil with well drained medium 1:1 mixed well.  Mist the soil but not overly wet.

3.Plant seeds into the soil, depth about the seed thickness, light cover with thin layer of soil.  Place the container in a re-sealable bag/clear plastic bag. Refrigerate.  Everyday open the bag for fresh air and check the progress.  Germination about 1.5-2 months.   Gently pick the sprouted seeds to plant in small pot, one seedling in one pot.  Keep moist and place the pot in partial shade/light shade, good air flowed location.

4.Firtilize the seedlings when plant has 4-6 true leaves.  Keep moist  and move the pots to full sun location.

5.When the plant growing normally, the plant will be able to have the first flower in summer.

以秋末到冬末室內播種或初春戶外播種為佳. 不可ˋ乾燥,過乾會失去活性孵不出來.  種子約1.5-2個月孵出.

1.種子量少時可用優格或布丁的小容器. 洗淨後打個洞當孵種子的小盆用.  種子量大時可用種子苗盆用有蓋的透明容器.

2.土壤用培養土+排水性佳介質以1:2混合裝好後噴水勿太濕.

3.點播後覆淺土. 用夾鍊袋裝好放冰箱冷藏. 每天檢查+透氣. 約1.5個月-2個月發芽. 待發芽後取出單獨小苗種植. 盆保濕,置於半日照/散光處要通風良好.

4.本葉4-6葉時可開始施薄肥.改全日照.

5.植株肥份夠的話夏天會開第一朵花.
