A cold hardy fruit vine!  A self pollinate fruit vine!     Easy to grow.  Best growing in full sun location.   Creamy white flowers in late spring to early summer.  Supposed to be with fragrant flowers but I did not detect any noticeable fragrance on these small flowers.  Edible small smooth-surfaced green berries are ready for harvesting in late summer to fall.  Plant flower and fruit on previous growth.   USDA Zones:4-9. Mature size:10′-20′(H/L).  Propagate by seeds, cuttings,  layering or grafting.  Fast growing.  Require strong structure for vine to cling on.

相當耐寒強健的水果藤蔓! 更棒的是有兩者雄蕊與雌蕊的完全花所以能自花授粉! 容易栽種. 最好栽種在全日照處.  乳白色的小花於春末夏初盛開.  花頗吸引蜂蝶. 雖然她的小花該是有花香的,可是聞的時候沒有聞到.  可以食用的綠色,果實表面光滑的小果於夏秋間成熟便可以採收食用. 它的扮老枝條才是會開花結果的藤,所以修剪時要注意.  耐寒也還算耐熱.  成熟株高/藤長10-20呎.  繁殖方式以種子,扦插,壓條或嫁接的方式來進行.  生長快速.  需要堅固耐用的支架來供其攀爬.

Deciduous woody vine/tree.  This Japanese wisteria has long around 18″ long fragrant pink flower clusters hanging down in late spring to early summer.     Easy to grow.  Best growing in full sun to partial shade location.  Vigorous climbing woody vine can be trained free standing as a tree or as a vine on structure, such as arbor, trellis or fence.  Heavy pruning after flowering season and one more time in late fall before winter.  USDA Zones:5-9.  Mature size:20′-25′(L) X 10′-20′(W).  Propagate by seeds, cuttings, layering or grafting.   Fast growing.  Plant is toxic if ingested.

It has beautiful fragrant double purple long clusters of flowers, gorgeous!   Bloom in mid spring to late spring.   Easy to grow.  Best growing in full sun location.   Flowers attract bees and butterflies.   Excellent for bonsai tree, can be trained for a free standing tree or let it climb as a vine on strong structure.   Mature size:20′-40′(L) X 20′-40′(W).  USDA Zones:4-9.  Fast growing.  Propagate by seeds, cuttings, layering and grafting.  Plant is toxic if ingested.  Seed germinate easily with the seed coating on or off in just few days. Originally thought it is same black dragon but it turns out not the same, I wonder if the sign of the name got mixed up?

這種紫藤有著美麗芳香重瓣紫花的垂墜長花序,真的很美!  於仲春開到春末.  容易栽種.  最好栽種在全日照處.  花頗吸引蜂蝶.  盆景或地植皆適宜,除了一般為攀爬於棚架上外也能訓練成獨立無支撐物的樹型.  成熟株高/長20-40呎/寬幅. 耐寒也頗耐熱. 生長速度很快.  繁殖以種子,扦插,壓條/高壓或嫁接方式來進行.  植株有毒勿食.  孵紫藤種子很容易,可去種皮或不去種子皆可都是幾天就能發芽. 原以為是八重黑龍Naganoda“BlackDragon”結果不是,不知道是植物園牌子寫錯了還是? 原來所謂黑龍有分黑龍(非重瓣)及八重黑龍(重瓣).

Beautiful variety!  Very cold hardy, strong woody flowering vine.  This Japanese Wisteria variety suppose has short plant maturity.   Easy to grow.  Best growing in full sun to partial shade location.  Lavender pea like flowers in clusters in late spring.  Lovely display!   Flowers attract bees and butterflies. USDA Zones:4-10.  Mature size:8-10M(H)/(L).  Propagate by seeds, cuttings, grafting or layering.  Like all the Wisteria vine, the plant requires strong structure.
