Very cold hardy native perennial/shrub with edible berries. Easy to grow. It is native in North America. Best growing in full sun to partial shade location. But tolerant thick shade. Small white flowers in late spring and edible fruit from red turn very dark. Plant canes are full with pricks. Handle with care. From far, the ripe berries making the plant looks like blackberry. USDA Zones:3-8. Mature size:3′-4′(H) X 3′-4′(W). Propagate by seeds, cuttings, layering or division.

非常耐寒強健的原生多年生/灌木結可食性莓果. 容易栽種. 北美原生. 最好栽種在全日照到半日照處. 但也耐蔭. 春末開白色小花結的可食性莓果會有紅轉為暗黑色. 植株的莖條多刺. 要特別小心處理. 遠看有熟果的植株會讓人有植株像是黑莓的錯覺. 耐寒也耐熱. 成熟株高/寬幅3-4呎. 繁殖方式以種子,扦插,壓條或分株的方式來進行.

Also called trumpet creeper, it is a very hardy perennial, easy to grow vine. Prefers in full sun location. Partial shade location will reduce quantity of flowers. Flowing in summer with yellow or orange red trumpet like flowers. Flowers attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Fast growing.

Flowers and roots are medicinal. Easy to propagate from seeds, layering, stem cuttings and grafting. USDA Zones:4-9. Mature size: 20′-30′(H) x 6′-8′(W) but it is easy to control by heavy pruning– only flowers on new shoots. This vine requires steady support.

厚萼凌霄是很強健的,原生北美的爬藤. 喜全日照,半日照會影響到花量. 夏開漏斗型花,或橘紅色或黃色,是蜂蝶和蜂鳥的蜜源植物. 生長快速.

花與根可為藥用. 容易用種子,壓條,扦插或高壓嫁接等方式來繁殖. 生長勢強,又因是新枝才是開花枝所以需要強修剪來控制. 耐寒也耐熱. 成熟株高可達20-30呎高,寬幅6-8呎,但可用強修剪來控制大小. 需要強度高穩固的支撐物.

Chayote is a kind of vegetable vine. Its fruit and its tender green shoots are both good vegetables. It is very easy to grow and inexpensive to buy in grocery store/supermarket.

I am letting a chayote growing by the window, later will give soil to cover its roots. This experiment want to see how much progress will the growth be indoor. It is now clinging on the blind of window.

It can be grew this with the whole fruit 1/2 into soil /ground (with one seed inside ) or grow from plant stem cuttings. It is vine so it does require support.

佛手瓜（Sechium edule）是一種葫蘆科佛手瓜屬植物,又稱合掌瓜. 瓜和稱為龍鬚菜的嫩葉都是好蔬菜. 它非常容易栽種,在超級市場或果菜攤都有賣,也不貴. 這個實驗要看看在靠窗的室內的生長勢如何.

可以整個瓜1/2種到土中或用扦插法種植. 因為是爬藤類所以需要支撐物.

It is November 19, yesterday we have flurries, the recent coldest temperature was minus 5 degree C. And Honeysuckle is still blooming fragrantly! Easy to grow and remain green in winter in Toronto (zone 6). Because its long blooming time and beautiful fragrance, it is very good for cut flower!
耐寒,在多倫多冬天還是常綠的開花藤類. 花期很長從春末到冬初且花香芬芳耐插很適合當切花花材.全日照,容易扦插繁殖.

Just like Dahlia, they are tender perennials, summer bulbs. They like to grow in the full sun location. After flowering period, the main bulb will grow small bulbs or seeds, you have to store the bulbs away before frost. They are good cut flowers. Plants with flower stems are usually tall, will need to stake the flower stems.

屬於鳶尾科唐菖蒲屬的球根花卉. 喜歡全日照土壤排水須良好. 植株耐熱不耐寒. 繁殖以分球為主,母球會著生木子(小球),木子種植短約1年即可開花. 另可用種子繁殖出雜交新品種. 長出花莖後植株較高,需要支撐植株避免強風豪雨折斷.

我僅以盆植約2個月便開花結子,表示非常容易種植和繁殖! 當然以地植為最佳.

花色多種可以挑選,適合做切花材料.
