Evergreen tropical perennial. Easy to grow. Best in partial shade location. Leaves cover with purple layer of fine hair. The underside of leaves is purple. Small orange-yellow pompom like flowers in late spring to early summer. Some said the flowers are fragrant. USDA Zones:9-10. Mature size:2′-3′(H) X 1.5′-2′(W). Propagate by cuttings or division. Suitable for indoor containers. Excellent for planters.

What a sight of nature running its course! Seen it many times in the films but it is different when you see it right there. Long way home from ocean back to fresh water stream where they were born to spawn when the temperature reach 14C in fall. Many people were fishing and caught many big salmon!
好一幅大自然奮鬥的景象! 雖看過許多類似的影片了,但是身歷其境的感受到底還是比較震撼的. 自從鮭魚卵孵化後逐漸長大些後便從下游到海洋去生活長成了,經由奇妙的基因密碼,秋天當氣溫約14度C時,成熟的鮭魚便開始了回鄉產卵之路.
Salmons in fall around September and trout in spring around April. 鮭魚洄流於秋天九月左右產卵,鱒魚則在春季四月份時洄游產卵.

Cold hardy perennial. Easy to grow.  Best growing in partial shade to full shade location in moist soil.  Mauve/pink or white flowers look like poppy in mid spring to early summer.  USDA Zones:5-9.  Mature size:1.5′-2′(H) X 1′-1.5′(W).  Propagate by seeds.  Excellent for woodland garden!

*Seeds germination: With some soil/medium keep seeds moist but not too wet in fridge, can be in resealable bag or container for at least 1 month then bring it out in room temperature in partial shade or light shade warm location, seeds will start to germinate.  Total germination is about 40 days.  Seeds do not stay viable long so they are not able to keep in storage.   Fresh seeds sow as soon as possible otherwise seeds will be hard to germinate because seeds might go into further dormancy and lost viability.

耐寒強健的多年生草花.  容易栽種. 最好栽種在半日照到全蔭處.  淡紫色/粉紅色或白色花好似罌粟花形,於仲春到初夏間盛開.  喜冷也頗耐熱.  成熟株高1.5-2呎,寬幅1-1.5呎.  主以種子來繁殖.  很適合林地型花園!

*種子需播在小苗盆上/或夾鏈袋裝,置於暗處+冷涼處的冰箱冰1個月後取出室溫下半日照到散光處等種子孵出. 約40天孵出.    種子活性短無法保存且種子的冬眠期長.

Not sure this is Fragaria x ananassa or Fragaria virginiana ‘Wonderful Pineberry’.  Cold hardy perennial with edible fruit.  Easy to grow.  Best growing in full sun to partial shade location in moist but well drained rich soil.  Small white flowers in spring to early fall,  followed by edible small, marble sized fruit.  Fruit from green turn white with pink hue when ripe.  Everbearing variety.  Flowers attract bees and butterflies.   Fruit taste like strawberry and pineapple combined flavor.  Some people tried and loved it but some tried and said not as good as regular strawberries.   I am not sure why.  Even though I think it could be the plant cares and fertilizer making the differences.  USDA Zones:3-9.  Mature size:3″-1′(H)  X 9″-1′(W).  Propagate by seeds, runner or division.   Suitable for container indoors.

不確定這種是否為’Wonderful Pineberry’.  耐寒強健的多年生草花結可食用果實.  容易栽種.  最好栽種在全日照到半日照處的濕潤但排水佳的土壤.  春到初秋開單瓣的小白花,花後結白色帶點淡粉紅色的成熟果實.  果實吃起來帶有草莓味混和一點點鳳梨香.   有人覺得很好吃也有人覺得不如一般的紅草莓.  不知道為何試吃結果頗為兩極.  雖說同一物種在不同環境下日照與肥料的供給不同的確是會讓果實的味道不太一樣. 耐寒但不甚耐熱.  成熟株高:3吋到1呎,寬幅9吋到1呎.  繁殖方式可以用種子,走莖或分株的方式來進行.  適合室內盆植.
