Hardy shrub with yellow fragrant flowers in spring and black edible fruit follow in late summer.  Very easy to grow in sun or shade location.   Plants tolerant heavy pruning and drought but not wet.   It is a good hedging plant.  Nice scarlet-red fall colour!  Very useful shrub.  Easy to propagate by seeds in early spring or by green wood cuttings in fall.  Attract humming birds.
