It is fairly easy to grow from seeds.  Best growing in full sun location.   Tiny creamy white flowers on flower stems in spring and nuts mature in late fall.  This European type of sweet chestnut has slightly smaller nuts and duller, browner nut color than Chinese sweet chestnut.  If you have good size land, you should grow them.  Very hardy and low maintenance.  USDA Zones:4-11. Mature size:40′(H)/(W).   Propagate by seeds, cuttings or grafting.  Good food source and medicinal.
