Tender perennial vegetable/aquatic.  Easy to grow.  Best growing in full sun to partial shade location in moist to wet soil.  Moring glory like flowers in summer.  Flowers attract bees and butterflies.  USDA Zones:7-11. Mature size:8′-10′(H) X 6′-8′(W).  Propagate by seeds or cuttings.  Fast growing, may be invasive in warm region.

多年生不耐寒的葉菜/水生植物. 容易栽種.  最好栽種在全日照到半日照出的濕潤/泥裡.  夏天開朝顏般的花朵.  花頗吸引蜂蝶.  喜熱不甚耐寒.  成熟株高8-10呎, 寬幅6-8呎.  繁殖以種子或扦插的方式來進行.  生長快速可能在溫暖地區成為強勢植物.

Thanks for gardener Alex for these bulbs/rhizomes!  I might enjoy the flowers this late summer or the summer next year!  🙂 要感謝花友Alex的分享/交換這些蝴蝶薑/野薑花的塊根. 可能今年夏末或明年夏天就能賞到花!  🙂 It is not really ginger.  Even though its rhizomes/tubers/bulbs and leaves do look like ginger family.   And its young shoots, flowers and tender rhizomes are also edible.  Very fragrant white flowers in summer which excellent for cut flower.  Easy to grow from bulbs/tubers/rhizomes in full sun to partial shade location in moist soil.  It always reminds me the summer in Taiwan because it is so common everywhere in the wild when I was young.  People like to harvest the tall flower stems for cut flower use.  The pleasant strong fragrance is lingering along the waterside area which you can smell it from far away.  Medicinal. USDA Zones:8-11.  Mature plant size is:4′-6′(H) X 1.5′-2′(W).  Easy to propagate by seeds, tubers/rhizomes.

它似薑而非薑.  雖然它的塊根及葉長的很像薑科. 同時它的嫩芽,花朵及嫩薑部位跟薑科的一樣也是可以食用的.  夏天開白色蝴蝶形的香花,很合適做切花花材. 容易栽種在全日照到半日照處的濕潤土壤中.  看到它總會令我想起童年在台灣的夏天,因為它如此常見到處都是.  花莖常被剪下瓶插.  夏天時在它們生長的水邊,宜人的強香大老遠就可以聞到.  可藥用. 耐熱耐溼,不甚耐寒.  成熟株高4-6呎,寬幅為1.5-2呎寬.  容易以種子,塊根來繁殖.
