Annual/tropical tender perennial.  Very easy to grow and propagate. Best growing in full sun to partial shade location. Small tiny pink flowers in late spring through summer to early fall.  USDA Zones:9-10.  Mature size:1.5′-2′(H/W).  Propagate by seeds. Medicinal herb/vegetable. Tender leaves and stems are cooked as leafy vegetable, the root can stew with chicken soup, delicious!

一年生或多年生草花. 容易栽種及繁殖. 最好栽種在全日照到半日照處.  春末夏初到初秋開粉紅色小花.花頗吸引蜂蝶.   喜熱不耐寒.  成熟植株高/寬幅1.5-2呎.  可以種子春播或枝條扦插或分株來繁殖.   夏天抽出花梗時便可採收.  根的形狀如人參,嫩莖葉可做葉菜來料理,其根能和雞湯燉煮,好吃!   具有藥用價值.

This hardy perennial is very common seen in any flower store.   Its flowers are often used to give flower bouquet volume and misty colour.  Easy to grow it in full sun to partial shade location.  Plants are quite drought tolerant once established.       USDA Zones:3-9.  Mature size:1.5′-2′(H) X 1.5′-3′(W).  Tiny lavender flowers in summer. Excellent for cut flower!  Propagate usually by division but also can be propagated by seeds. 

它是強健的多年生草花常見於花店的切花用花材.  它的花常用於花束用以增加花束的體積及常用配花.  容易栽種於全日照到半日照處.  植株根系穩固後是很耐旱的.  耐寒也耐熱.  成熟株高1.5-2呎,寬幅1.5-3呎.  夏天開花.花梗上佈滿小紫花很適合當切花花材!  繁殖方式多以分株方式無性繁殖,但也可用種子作有性繁殖.

This plant originally from Southern America, tender perennial, with small fuzzy, pink, pom-pom like flowers.  Flowering in mid summer and it often self-seed easily.  Some warmer region consider this is invasive weed.  It prefers full sun location, tolerant drought once established.  USDA Zones: 9 and warmer.  Mature size:1′-3′(H) x 1.5′-3′(W).   Seed is poisonous if ingested.  It has medicinal property often been used with other plants by professionals but when use it alone it is toxic.   In cold region, people often plant it as a fun annual.

A perennial aquatic plant with pretty flowers!  Ruby-eyed center flowers looks very pretty!  Flower diameter is 2-3 cm.  Easy to grow in warm wet lands.  Long blooming time from June to September.  Mature size:2′-3′(H) x 1’+.   USDA Zones: 8-11.  I don’t know how common this variety is but it certainly caught my attention.  🙂  In cold region will treat this as an annual.  Best grow this in full sun to partial shade location, do not dry out.  Propagate usually by rhizome or dividing the plant clumps. 澤瀉科的一種慈姑. 白花紅心,花徑2-3公分,不算小.  有清雅的美. 看起來蠻容易種的.  成熟株高2-3呎,寬1呎左右. 很耐熱但不耐寒. 花期很長,6-9月.  這品種我不知道是否常見,倒是被它的美花吸引了我的注意. 在冷的氣候區是當成一年生來養. 全日照到半日照,不可乾掉.  通常以塊根或分株來繁殖.
