This tropical perennial herb is very easy to grow.  USDA Zones:7-11. Very hardy. Mature size: 4′-6′(H) x 3′-4′(W).  Like all the bananas prefer full sun to partial shade location in moist soil. Pink and yellow flowers in mid spring to early summer.  Fruit is sweet but too seedy to eat.  Propagate by seeds or dividing the plant clumps.  Good for indoor plant.

這種矮性多年生的紫蕉多是種來玩賞用的.  春開粉紅色及黃色花,果實雖甜但種子太多不好入口.  很強健但不甚耐寒.  成熟株高4-6呎,寬幅3-4呎. 全日照到半日照的環境為佳,喜溼潤土壤.  容易以種子或分株來進行繁殖. 是很強健耐寒的熱帶植物.  可室內盆植.

Geranium genus has wide range of plants, some are tender perennial as annual, some are very winter hardy, some are evergreen and whole plant is fragrant! There few geranium I really like:

Dwarf Cranesbill (Geranium × cantabrigiense ‘Westray’)

Dwarf cranesbill (Geranium × cantabrigiense ‘Westray’) is evergreen, whole plant is very fragrant and winter hardy, USDA Zones: 4-9. The best value of this is shade tolerant, I experimented it in full shade area and still perform well! It is very compact which it is very good for edging and for ground cover. Good for cut flower, too! 🙂 Mature size is 20cm (H) x 30-45cm (W). There are also same species but different varieties.

Dwarf cranesbill(Geranium × cantabrigiense ‘Biokovo’)

Dwarf cranesbill(Geranium × cantabrigiense ‘Biokovo’) Basical as dwarf cranesbill (Geranium × cantabrigiense ‘Westray’) but flowers in lighter pink. Also great! It all depends on what colour do you need to go with your existing plants or design.

Cranesbill Geranium (Geranium ‘Rozanne’)

Another one I like a lot for its long blooming time is:
Cranesbill Geranium (Geranium ‘Rozanne’) Feels like once it is awaken in spring it will not stop flowering until frost! Great to go with garden mainly in evergreen trees and shrub for bight but mutual colour. Even though it is neither evergreen nor fragrant but it is showy and reliable perennial! This performs better in full sun location.

This genus is very easy to propagate by stem cuttings, layering or dividing the plant in early spring or late summer.

我喜歡該屬的幾種多年生草花,除了以上照片的兩種品種外(因其常綠,耐蔭,全株有香氣,可作切花花材),另一種是Cranesbill Geranium (Geranium ‘Rozanne’),雖不是常綠也不耐蔭,更無香氣,也不能當切花,可是它的超長開花期就是很吸引人種它的! 有點蔓生匍匐的莖上有開不斷的花..很適合種常綠樹木或灌木來平衡顏色. 這品種不耐蔭,試過種在半日照處可是表現不佳. 最好是全日照.
