It is one of the rare oaks.  Native in few states of south US. I do hope its habitat will recover and even expand!   Unique foliage with maple leaf resemblance with beautiful red fall color, it deserves more attention for sure!  Easy to grow.  Best growing in full sun location.  USDA Zones:5-8. Mature size:40′-50′(H) X 20′-30′(W).  Propagate by seeds. Drought tolerant once established.

這是種很少見的橡樹之一.  原生美國南部的很少幾州.  我希望它在原生地能復育甚至於擴張到其他地方!

這種橡樹有著獨特的葉形,很像楓樹葉片,並且秋天時也能像楓葉轉紅,蠻值得種的! 其實蠻容易栽種的. 最好栽種在全日照處. 耐寒性不錯,但耐熱性欠佳.  成熟株高40-50呎,寬幅20-30呎.  繁殖主以種子來進行.  植株穩定後相當耐旱.

Deciduous small to medium tree, mainly growing it for fall colour display.  Very hardy and easy to grow.  Best grow in full sun for best fall colour.  USDA Zones:4-8.  Mature size: 20′-30′(H) X 15′-20′(W).  It has copper red paper bark which is very interesting to look at.  Propagate by seeds, cuttings or grafting.  Suitable for small to medium garden.

血皮楓是小型到中型的落葉喬木.  秋天葉色由綠轉紅.  非常強健且容易栽種.   最好是種在全日照處這樣秋色會比較紅豔.  耐寒性佳.  成熟株高為20-30呎,寬幅為15-20呎.  樹幹的表面為紅銅色脫皮樣的樹皮紋理看起來蠻特別的.   繁殖以種子,扦插或高壓/嫁接法.  適合種在中小型花園.

Acer rubrum (Red Maple, also known as Swamp, Water or Soft Maple), is one of the most common and widespread deciduous trees here in Canada. Its tiny red flowers are quite showy in spring. I love its stunning red fall colour!!
美國紅楓是槭樹科,槭樹屬,大型落葉喬木,生長速度快，所產木材為軟木，高度一般可達30米,樹形直立向上,成年樹形多為卵形或橢圓形.春季開紅花，先花後葉. 秋色綠葉轉為紅豔,非常搶眼!
