Solomon’s Seal (Polygonatum kingianum) seeds germination in 1.5-2 months. 滇黃精種子約1.5-2個月左右孵出.

Cold hardy perennial, mainly as medicinal herb.  Native in Southwest of China.  Easy to grow.  Best growing in partial shade location in moist location.  Orange red to red flowers in late spring.  Flowers attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds.  Good for cut flower  SDA Zones:5-9.  Mature size:8′-12′(H)/(W).   Propagate by seeds, cuttings, rhizomes or division.  Medicinal.

Seed germination is about 1.5-2 months.  Seeds should be covered with soil or medium, keep moist and around 15-20C.   The pot/seed tray should be in partial shade to light shade location.  Seeds should be planted as soon as possible after harvest in fall.   I did not know the seed germination condition so I separated them in different small groups.  And only I mentioned earlier the condition germinated, the ones without soil covering, color faded, shrunk and molded.

耐寒強健的多年生草花. 主要用於中藥藥用.  原生地是中國雲南省.  容易栽種.  最好栽種在半日照處濕潤的土壤.  春末開橘紅到紅色的花朵.  花頗吸引蜂蝶與蜂鳥.  適合切花. 耐寒但耐熱性尚可不算好.  成熟株高/寬幅 8-12呎.  美國有進口作為園藝多年生花卉,雖說在原生地是主要種來當作藥用植物. 因為這屬的花朵多為米黃色. 但這物種開的是橘紅色花朵,聽說成熟植株可以超過一個人高. 一般這屬的多為2-5呎. :!@38: 這物種的葉片比同屬的細長很多.

種子孵出的時間為1.5-2個月之間. 種子需覆土. 保濕,溫度15-20C. 這類種子的活性不長,最好趁新鮮就播種.  當初不知道種子是趨光或厭光所以有分批孵. 沒覆土的多萎縮霉爛,覆土的都還飽滿.

This cute double meadow rue is dainty!  Tiny double pink/mauve flowers is very similar to baby’s breath flowering all summer.  Flowers attract bees and butterflies.   Good for cut flower.   Best growing in partial shade moist soil.   USDA Zones:3-9.  Mature size:4′-5′(H) X 1.5′-2′(W).  Excellent in woodland garden.   Slow growth.
