We were having our tea in our backyard in the afternoon, I saw a pair of praying mantis mating, a cicada flying by and making noise, a humming bird enjoy and rest on a humming bird feeder, squirrel was moving her young one by one from old nest to new warm nest back and forth. And I, I enjoyed tea and harvested some garden vegetables!
午後我們在後花園喝下午茶時,看到一對配對了的螳螂,一隻飛過吵鬧不休的知了,翩翩飛舞的鳳蝶,一隻來喝糖水並短暫歇息的蜂鳥,一隻母松鼠叼著小松鼠一趟一趟的來回搬新家. 而我,除了享受花園的下午茶外,我還採收了一些園中種植的蔬菜.
黃色夏南瓜收種了Get seeds from my yellow zucchini
This zucchini was growing since July 20…so it was time to pick and get seeds for next year growing use. This plant had more than 20 zucchini so far and still counting. As you can see, there are around 200 seeds from this zucchini. I don’t have space for so many plus I am not going to grow so many. Any one want to trade/exchange your different produce seeds for my yellow zucchini seeds?

Thorn less black berries, small tomatoes, cucumbers, yellow zucchini, colorful Swiss chards, baby carrots. They are very good!無刺黑莓,小蕃茄,大黃瓜,黃色夏南瓜,彩色瑞士菾菜,和小紅蘿蔔. 都很好吃!

So far I have harvested over 12 yellow zucchini in one giant plant! Lots of small yummy tomatoes and green leafy veggies. The shallow planter will be used to plant annual herbs with shallow roots next year, such as sweet basil and coriander.
增建更多種植蔬果箱的種植範圍..目前光一棵黃色的夏南瓜就採收了12條瓜和許多雄花雌花,許多小蕃茄和葉菜類. 增建的淺種植區主要是明年要大量種淺根性的一年生香草植物.如甜羅勒和芫荽等.
It is not the first time to harvest the yellow zucchini but it is nice to see it grow more and more zucchini! The photos of zucchini is for saving seeds next year. It is so big now…

Yellow Zucchini Experiment 黃色夏南瓜授粉實驗
Purpose of this experiment: Can I save male flower pollen when I don’t have female flower ready yet?
As picture shown: 5/29 + 6/10 same plant male flower pollen, use Q-tip to swab and store in small re-sealable bag then store in freezer. This morning pollinated a same plant female flower and then cover female flower with clear plastic bag. In three days, this female flower will wilt and come off then we will know the result.
