This kind of bulb prefers full sun location in well drained soil.  Many failed to return is due to the wet soil.  Flowers are so beautiful in autumn!  Growing leaves in spring and dormant in summer.   This variety is not common but certainly gorgeous as its variety name ‘Waterlily’.  Toxic, always wear gloves when handling.  USDA Zones:4-9.

It is a hardy deciduous shrub or small tree.  Pale yellow near white flowers in late spring and beautiful red fruit in fall with bright orange seeds.  The twigs in fall with fruit and yellow fall colour in leaves are quite showy, good for cut flower.  It tolerants wide range of soil condition.  Prefer full sun to partial shade location.  Mature size is 8′-10′ (H).  But it is easy to prune to desire size.  Easy to propagate by seeds or cuttings.  USDA Zones:5-8.  Toxic if ingested.

It thrives when growing in good soil and light, it could be invasive.  It is better to control the seeds before they are mature.  If you have good or normal soil I do not recommend to plant this.   But for some poor soil condition this could be the right choice.

歐衛矛是很強健的落葉灌木或小樹.  適合栽種在全日照到半日照處.  春末開淡黃接近白色的小花,秋天果實成熟轉紅,果實裂開後呈現出橘色外皮的種子.  帶著紅果的枝幹與秋色黃葉很搶眼,適合作切花花材.  耐寒. 耐貧瘠土壤. 成熟株高及寬幅為8-10呎.   有毒不可食.

土壤若肥份不差可能變成過於強勢會需要修剪控制.  我是不建議栽種在一般庭園除非土壤貧瘠很難找到適合的植物栽種.

Also called goumi.  Very hardy large shrub or small tree.  Easy to grow in full sun to partial shade location.  Fragrant pale yellow to white flowers in spring and edible fruits in late summer.  Fruits ripe from orange to red.  Back of the foliage is silvery.  USDA Zones:4-8.  Mature size:6′-8′(H) X 6′-8′(W).  Propagate by soft wood cuttings or seeds.

木半夏是強健的灌木或小樹.  葉背為銀白色.  花有觀賞價值,果實具有藥用和食用價值.  容易栽種在全日照到半日照處.  春天開淡黃偏白的香花,夏末果實由橘色轉紅色.  果皮薄不耐運送所以不適合鮮果販賣.  耐寒性佳.  成熟株高為6-8呎,寬幅6-8呎.   繁殖方式以新枝扦插或種子來繁殖.

Easy to grow in full sun to partial shade location.  Like other varieties they are short, plant size: 15-20cm(H) X 7-15cm(W).  USDA Zones:5-8, but some information said cold hardier than that.  Good for mass planting and cut flower.

流蘇葡萄風信子是有點不一樣的葡萄風信子. 跟其它垂鈴狀的品種一樣好種,全日照到半日照的環境一般都能栽種.  成熟株高僅有15-20公分,寬幅為7-15公分.  耐寒性OK. 有資料說是相當耐寒.  適合區域性種植,可做為切花用.

紅醋栗是極其強健,容易栽種的落葉灌木. 初春開花,夏天結紅色小漿果透亮小巧. 全日照到陰暗處都能生長的很好. 除紅色的品種外,常見的頦有黑色和白色的醋栗品種. 繁殖方式以扦插方式為主,種子的話要第2或第3年才會開花. 一般壽命年限為15-30年左右. 成熟株高約3-5呎,寬幅約為3-5呎,但容易修剪成想要的大小. 非常耐寒.

Very cold hardy and low maintenance!  Very easy and fast to root by cuttings from mature plant in water or potting soil indoors in late fall.  You will see each branch nod will send roots then you can cut individually so you can have many rooted cuttings produced from a twig quickly.

This plant when grow in full sun to partial shade will have the maximum crop but will be too tart to eat straight rather than in shade which is sweeter, good to eat straight although this way plant produces less quantity of berries.  I found it is interesting.

Flowering quince ( Chaenomeles ) yellow ripe fruit in fall. Quite many seeds in each fruit. 木瓜梅秋熟的黃色果實. 一枚果實中的種子量還不少.

It is pretty and low maintenance especially like Japanese Dwarf Flowering Quince – Chaenomeles japonica, Zone 4, very hardy and do not over grow. Best in full sun location. The twigs of this genus have long pricks. Flower in spring and then fruit in late summer. Common flower colour are red and bright orange-red.    Ripe fruit is edible, often are used for jam or preserves.
