It is a very hardy large flowering shrub or small tree.  Best grow it in full sun to partial shade location.   It flowers in spring with small white pinkish flowers and follow by dark, fairly sweet edible fruit in late summer.   Fruit attract birds.  

It is beautiful with foliage turning colour from green to purple-red in fall.   Easy to grow in full sun location.  USDA Zones:2-8.  Very cold tolerant.  Mature size:12′-15′(H) X 10′-12′(W).  Propagation by softwood, semi-softwood cuttings in fall; or by seeds  in fall indoors or spring.
