Hull-less seed pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo ‘Styrian’) 無種殼南瓜
This is kind of new trend for growing pumpkins. There are few varieties of hull-less seed or called oil seed pumpkins are available. Mainly growing for its hull-less seeds for oil press or to blend in for veggie and fruit smoothie. Just thought it will be fun to grow and I am curious of how this pumpkin will taste like. Pumpkin seed oil (250ml bottle) is quite pricy so no wonder some people will grow their own! Heirloom from Styria, Austria. Annual crop. Easy to grow. Best growing in full sun location. Mature size:1′-1.5′(H) X 6′-8′(W). Propagate by seeds. Even though this variety is mainly growing for its hull-less seeds but the flesh is also good for pie, cooking just like those common pumpkins.
