Native grass/herb in the most of parts of the world.  Cold hardy perennial.  Famous for its fragrance and medicinal uses.  It is considered holly and used for cleaning in many religions.   It is aromatic so also are used to flavor drinks and food.  When burn the leaves, the fragrance is like vanilla, hence the name.  Easy to grow.  Best growing in full sun to partial shade location in moist soil.  Fast growing.  USDA Zones:3-9. Mature size:1′-2′(H/W).  Propagate by seeds or division.  Medicinal.   Can be used to repel insects.

原生於幾乎世界各地的一種草/香草.  相當耐寒強健的多年生草本. 以其香味與藥用效果聞名. 甚至於很多地方認為它有神聖與清淨之效.   味道很香還被用於料理食物與飲料來添加香味.  葉片燻燃時的味道如同香莢蘭(香草)的香味,故又名香莢蘭草.   容易栽種.  最好栽種在全日照到半日照處的濕潤土壤.  生長速度快.  喜寒也耐熱.  成熟株高/寬幅1-2呎.  繁殖以種子或分株的方式來進行.  藥用.  可用於防蟲.
