We used to grow this vegetable in our backyard and it’s part of our daily cuisine 🙂
It’s name in my mother tongue, Malayalam, is ‘Vendakka’ and but the English name that we commonly use is ‘Ladies Finger’ 🙂
I am not sure, whether it grows outside tropical areas?
“The geographical origin of okra is disputed, with supporters of West African, Ethiopian, and South Asian origins. The plant is cultivated in tropical, subtropical and warm temperate regions around the world."–Wikipedia. Now they are everywhere! 🙂
