Your Peonies are very pretty! Do your lupine attract aphids? Ours sure did. The Hollyhocks have some little jumping green bugs on them. Maybe they are the ones destroying the leaves.
I have praying mantises to eat bugs so I don’t have to do any pest control! 🙂
Do you buy them or do they just show up.. I have only seen one since we moved here.
I always purchase the egg cases and by end of spring before summer they will hatch and “clean" the garden pest! Sometimes they lay few egg cases but I haven’t noticed these got much success so I purchase every mid spring from store or supplier.

I enjoy variety of flowers make garden have seasonal looks.
我看耬斗菜很多外國朋友的花園都有種，很特別，我也愛芍藥，它花型像牡丹，但台灣要海拔高的地方才種得起來，妳家的庭菖蒲也非常漂亮。
耬斗菜及庭菖蒲台灣平地都能種,有台灣花友種到開花. 芍藥好種不過夏天要搬到冷氣房或中高海拔露地種也可. 香港有人盆植種到開花,不過也是夏住冷氣房,開花前要冰它的去土後塊莖冷藏在冰箱以促開花. 這樣當花奴不開也不行,哈哈! 🙂
耬斗菜種子及庭菖蒲植株(無土帶根)可分享/交換. 流蘇樹的種子成熟了嗎? 若成熟了可以來換啊.

Beautiful, beautiful. I really enjoyed your post. Your garden is a few weeks ahead of mine – our clematis is just budding now. We are zone 2.
Thanks! It is quite limited in terms of plant choices in zone 2! Everything must winter hardy enough but at the same time the tender perennials as annuals is nice, too!
Yes, many of your flowers are not seen around here at all. If we plant up against the house, we can squeak up to zone 3, and annuals add colour to the rest of the gardens.
If I lived there I will build myself a decent green house for sure! 🙂
