Plant List — Here are some plants I can give away or exchange with my follow gardeners.
種子交換及贈送清單列出如下:
Each portion of seed usually is 10 or 20 seeds, if seeds are fine and small, will be more of course. This is not meant for mass planting use, more about learning and having fun so each gardener is only allowed to ask for one portion of each kind. Thank you! 🙂
種子一份的數量為10-20顆, 細小的話數量自然會多些. 這不是要用於大量種植用的,是以學習和娛樂為目的的分享和交換所以每人每種限一份. 謝謝!

Plants I would like to get: 我想要換得的:
Citrus australasica (Australian Finger Lime) 澳洲手指青檸
I have a couple of red flowering currants in the garden, I will have a look later whether they still have the berries on or if the birds have made off with them all already 🙂
Thanks for checking that for me, I appreciate that! 🙂
How do you like them? Any fragrance or odour from their flowers? Are they hardy enough?
I’m afraid it is a disappointment, I checked this morning and the berries are long gone. It is coming up for winter here and ribes flower in early spring, so the birds had all that time to eat them. I also prune them back after flowering, as you are supposed to, so that won’t have helped much with the berries.
Mine are a lighter shade of red, and once the blooms are fully open they look more like pink.I am not aware of any scent, but there may well be some fragranced varieties, I’m not sure. We inherited these from the previous house owner, otherwise I would probably have tried to get scented ones, if they exist.
Our winters can get rough at times, with frost down to between -10 and -15 degrees C, and they don’t mind at all. Mostly our winters are not quite so cold, but wet and windy, sometimes with lots of snow, sometimes with none, and my ribes cope fine with all of that.In fact, I have one in another corner of the garden which keeps getting mildew and I have been wanting to get rid of it. I cut it all the way down, as I can’t dig it up, but it sprouts and gets as big again every year, so they are tough. They may not like it too dry though.
The best I can do, unless you can get your seeds elsewhere, is wait till spring and get seeds for you then, but that will be another six months now. Sorry.
You are right, it is too late to collect their seeds. Normally their fruit ripe around mid summer. So by fall, they are all dropped or been eaten. Can I get some next year? What would interest you in my free or exchange seed list? Big thanks! –Jane
Hi again, Jane. Maybe we should decide that when I have seeds? After all there is no garantee that my ribes will produce any viable ones, as it depends on weather and whether there are bees about at the right time. I wouldn’t want to cheat you out of your seeds! Sonja.
That is OK. Just let me know what kind of plant seeds you like on my list. Thanks!
The false indigo or the garlic chives look appealing and they should survive in the climate where I live 🙂 I noticed you are looking for a wine cup – had to look it up to find out what it is – they look fantastic! Pity they would probably struggle here.
False indigo need longer germination time so you either can start indoor in winter (use a small container to grow, soak in warm water for one day before planting), then by spring you can put seedlings in the garden. Garlic chives are so hardy, sprinkle them outdoor where you want them to grow before winter, just put a sign otherwise you will forget once they pop out.
I can mail them to you. Your address?
If you like you can already let me have your address so I can put it in my address book. That way I won’t forget to send when the time is right.
In fact, Jane, why don’t you just email me your address, that way we don’t have to worry about it appearing publicly: smphoenix2003@yahoo.com
I wish I still have a garden, I would love to trade seeds with you. My friend where I live only has a tiny backyard garden which I fill with vegetables. I hope you get all the plants you wish for.
Thank you for visiting my blog. I grow some vegetables as well! 🙂
All done :-). Thank you again!
By the way, one of my blogs is all about photographs, mainly (though not all) of flowers, most of them in my garden, at http://sunsrays.wordpress.com, just in case you are interested. I am not pushing, I just thought I’d point it out since you love flowers, too.
Your photos are beautiful!! I do love bluebell and masterwort. But I can get masterwort here for sure. In the future I have something new I will let you know! I am growing blue poppy http://www.perennials.com/results.html?findplant=Meconopsis
