This hardy perennial likes full sun, well drained soil. In summer time its tube like bright flowers really attract hummingbirds. Also good for cut flower. Easy to grow. Once plant established it can be drought tolerant. USDA Zones:5-9. Mature size: 1′-2.5′(H) x 1′-1.5′ (W). Propagation by dividing the clump in early spring or seeds.

I planted one about 6 weeks ago, but did not survive. I don’t know what I did wrong.
Did you water regularly after you planted it? It should be given less water through time. Eventually it will root well and become drought tolerant. If you gave lots of water all the time then it could be the reason over watered it.
I have one in my Pyracantha coccinea(burning-thorny shrubs) fence… 🙂
