Ursinia Anethoides–trying something new試種新草花–銅錢花/非洲金盞菊
Just happened to see the seed pack available and I never grow this before.. It is native in south Africa. For full sun location. The flower size is about 2.5 inches across, plants bloom in summer and autumn. In warm climate, plants can continue to bloom in winter as well. Mature plant height is about 30-40cm. After sowing seeds for 3 days in warm area indoor, they start to sprout! 銅錢花是菊科的一年生草花,又名非洲金盞菊,原產於南非,在十八世紀後期傳入歐洲,十九世紀初成為大眾化的花卉. – See more at: http://web.igarden.com.tw/magazine/index.php?inpage=show_one&serial_s=146&serial_m=4&&subjetc=%27%27#sthash.lO0MWyyD.d2hkmJqA.dpuf沒種過看到它,所以買種子包來種. 原產於南非的一年生草花,橘色花,它的花期是夏秋季,溫暖的地區則冬天也會續開. 需全日照. 成熟植株高約30-40公分,適合盆植或直播地植.
They look very interesting – similar to gazanias don’t you think? Think gazanias are from South Africa too.
Gazanias are tender perennial (in warm climate they are perennial), Ursinia Anethoides is annual with skinnier leaves compare with Gazanias.
But yes, they are similar! 🙂
Thanks for the info – another useful annual then.
I guess so. That is why I want to grow it for the first time. 🙂
Hi, you have a nice blog.. Since I’m into biodiversity (:-)) I wonder whether you focuss on plants and flowers from your own country, or not? Just being curious.. That’s all 😉
I am from Taiwan so I know a lot of warm climate plants but I am living here this long and work as a landscaper I have enjoyed more plants in this USDA hardy zones.
Most of clients prefer no fuss plants in their property and few like all kinds, like me. 🙂
They look beautiful!
They are! Thanks for visiting and commenting my blog. 🙂
So pretty and they will brighten up the garden and being smiles in the morning in the spring sunshine.
They are so pretty. I hope they will thrive so I can collect more seeds for my gardening friends! 🙂
What lovely, happy flowers these seem to be. It will be fun to watch them grow in your garden.
I do hope they will be happy in my garden! 🙂 If they do well I will collect seeds to share some gardening friends. 🙂
